Home And Away

Shock twist as Home and Away star announces pregnancy with former lover

Home and Away fans have shared their wild theory on a twist involving two popular characters on the show.

The plot line involves Jessica Redmayne’s character Harper, who is pregnant to Tane, played by actor Ethan Browne.

Photos taken recently on set reveal Jessica flaunting a ‘baby bump’ while filming scenes at Palm Beach, NSW.

However, in a major twist, fans are claiming a pregnancy is ‘usually’ a sign that a character is soon to be axed.

‘Tane, Dana and Harper – yes, she is still filming [while visibly] pregnant. We see this in five to six months,’ a fan posted on the Home and Away Spoilers and Gossip Facebook page.

‘It’s crazy as they are dragging Harper’s pregnancy out longer than the other characters’ pregnancies.’

‘We know once [characters] have a baby they normally leave the show. Harper still has two years [on her] contract left I believe, and Tane – he signs new contracts often as he’s already done his three-year contract, so not sure when he is going to leave!’

The fan then went on to explain that ‘baby characters’ are costly for producers, since up to four ‘baby actors’ are needed to ‘play’ a single character.

More evidence was also shared to the Home and Away Spoilers and Gossip fan page showing Harper on set.

The clip, which was filmed by CelebTime, shows the characters of Tane, Dana, Mackenzie (Emily Weir) and Mali (Kyle Shilling) sharing drinks and ‘celebrating’.

‘Looks like the baby has been born,’ they posted.

‘Video from filming last week shows Tane, Mac, Dana and Mali having celebratory drinks on [the] Salt balcony.

‘Bad sound but I did hear something like, ”Dana was there”, Tane when leaving said he was off to see Harper. Filming time would be about right for [a] February birth.’

Fans on the Home and Away Gossip and Spoilers Facebook group have suggested that Harper's pregnancy is a major twist for the soap, since a pregnancy is 'usually' a sign that a character is soon to be axed

It comes after Home and Away fans were left devastated when fan-favourite character Felicity Newman, played by Jacqui Purvis, passed away on the show.

After leaving fans in tears following her character’s death, the actress, 33, has broken her silence on her heartbreaking final episodes.

The Aussie star, who is looking to make it big in Hollywood, posted to Instagram on Tuesday a touching tribute to her fans and the show which made her famous.

‘What a life! Thank you to @homeandaway for an incredible three years. Had an absolute blast,’ she wrote alongside a montage of her behind-the-scenes antics.

Jacqui’s final scenes aired last week when Felicity’s brother Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) made the heartbreaking decision to switch off her life support.

'We know once [characters] have a baby they normally leave the show. Harper still has two years [on her] contract left I believe, and Tane - he signs new contracts often as he's already done his three-year contract, so not sure when he is going to leave!' one fan wrote

The soap star told Yahoo Lifestyle on Tuesday: ‘I’ve had an incredible time on the show. Some of the best years of my life.

‘However, I knew I wanted an international career, so, I had to make the decision to leave and take the plunge.

‘I owe so much to the show, [and] because of it, I feel confident and ready to take on the international stage.’

Jacqui intends to jet off to Hollywood soon in pursuit of worldwide fame, following in the footsteps of ex-soap stars Chris Hemsworth, Isla Fisher and Samara Weaving.
