Former ‘Teen Mom’ Star Kail Lowry Says Her Fear Of Friends Selling Her Out Has Made Her Keep Her Problems More-Private

Kail, upon learning you don’t have to run to the Interwebs to blast someone every time you get mad…probably…

Kail Lowry says she’s shutting her mouth in hopes of shutting down her former friends’ attempts to make money by exposing her secrets.

The former Teen Mom 2 star recently told People that, in recent years, she has held herself back from spilling about her personal problems to her friends (and/or the entire Internet via social media or her podcasts).

“I feel like sometimes, when I was younger, I’d tell all my closest friends every single detail,” she told the magazine. “That didn’t work, so I don’t want to keep making that mistake. So, we handle it in our house, and we handle it in therapy. Because I just don’t think that I need the outside validation of the Internet and the podcast for every little thing. And so, I really do pick and choose what I share with people, whether it be friends on a personal level or the podcast or anything like that.”

Kail said her fear of being “sold out” by those she trusts is one reason she’s keeping her trap shut now more than ever before.

“At the end of the day, I don’t know what the support system will look like tomorrow,” she said. “I don’t know if people are going to sell me out to make a quick buck. I truly don’t know.”

“…not to mention you gotta also watch for people tryin’ to sell the baby!”

The ever-fertile former MTV star told the magazine that she’s proud of herself for not running to social media or her podcast every time she is upset about something.

“[I try] to handle it a little better than we have in the past by airing everything out in public,” Kail said.

This is not the first time Kail has spoken publicly about her fear of being sold out/exposed by people she was once close to. During an episode of her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast in April, Kail said she worries “every single day” that something from her past may “creep up” on her. She claimed “friendship fallouts” and “situations with people that were close to me or once worked for me” have made her scared that something private will be exposed.

“Basically.”

“And so I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop,” Kail said at the time. “… like, one person specifically said, like, ‘I can’t wait to expose you. Like, this is, I’m gonna expose you. Just wait, it’s coming.

“…Every single day I wake up and I’m like, is today the day that it’s gonna fall apart?

At the time, Kail said the first thing she does when she wakes up is “check the Internet” to see if she’s been “exposed,” reiterating that she doesn’t know what she has said or done that “could ruin my life.”

Kail has had numerous fall-outs with friends/former employees/romantic partners over the years. Most-recently, she apparently cut ties with her former nanny, Natalie, leading Natalie to take subtle social media jabs seemingly aimed at Kail on more than one occasion. In addition, a former boyfriend– Malik Montgomery— publicly spoke out against Kail in 2022, even claiming he was planning to write a tell-all book about his time with Kail. (That book never happened…The Ashley will give you a moment to get over your shock.)

Of course, Kail’s most-famous and longest-running public feud has been with her third baby daddy, Chris Lopez. Over the years, Chris and Kail— who share sons Lux and Creed— have aired their grievances about each other online via social media, podcasts and more. Both parties have also made it a point to publicly break any big news the other one has, before he or she can break it themselves.

“That’s how we flirt, ya know?”

In a recent interview with E! News, Kail stated that she has finally stopped reading others’ online comments about her.

“I would say it doesn’t bother me, but it absolutely did. I was absolutely still looking. I was reading the comments. I was checking up on the troll pages.”

“I just wish that I really committed to it sooner,” she added. “It has only been the last two years that I’ve actually listened.”

“I wish you had too! Just sayin’!”
