“Empathy?”— The Real Housewives of New York City fans criticize Brynn for not hugging Erin when she cried about her mom’s chemo
Episode 2 of The Real Housewives of New York City season 15 was released on October 8. The episode, titled You Can Run but You Can’t Ride, saw Erin apologize to Brynn for talking about her financial situation on the Jeff Lewis podcast.
While they were sitting down and talking about how they felt about the podcast, Erin opened up about the stress she was under because of her mom being in chemo. Fans of The Real Housewives of New York City already know about her mom battling cancer and her support towards her.
Brynn, who was sitting right across her on the sofa, didn’t move to hug her or to comfort her. She then appeared on a confessional to say that she and Erin were like sisters, so seeing her go through it hurt her. Fans of The Real Housewives of New York City took to X to criticize Brynn for not hugging Erin in times of need, then going on a confessional to say they were like sisters.
“Why is Erin breaking down telling Brynn about her mom going through chemo and Brynn is not even making a move to hug her or hold her hand or show some… empathy?” a fan said.
“This seems so awkward with Brynn not comforting Erin about her mom,” another fan said.

When Erin went on Jeff Lewis Live on August 8, 2023, he questioned where Brynn gets her money from because she hasn’t been seen working or earning a living from a specific source on the show. Jeff said he thought she was being helped. He asked Erin if she thought someone was helping her financially, and Erin said she didn’t think so.
In episode 2, Erin said that while she didn’t say anything, she agreed with Brynn’s sentiments and that she understood she should have shut the topic sooner.
The ladies then addressed other grievances, such as Erin’s belief that Brynn was going to Jenn to break up Erin’s friendship with her. They agreed to disagree because Erin said she really needed Brynn’s support because she was going through a lot since her mom got cancer.
