Home and Away star Kate Ritchie addresses return rumours
Is Sally Fletcher coming back to Summer Bay?
Home and Away star Kate Ritchie has spoken out about the rumours that she’s making a comeback to Summer Bay.
Ritchie played much-loved character Sally Fletcher on the soap between 1988 and 2008, before making a brief guest appearance in 2013.
Since Sally jetted off to the US with her daughter Pippa in an attempt to find a cure for Pippa’s Mitochondrial disease, not much has been heard from her, but TV Week reports that there are growing rumours that Sally might be heading back to the Bay soon.

Ritchie was questioned about a potential return while appearing on her regular radio show, Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, with her co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli demanding answers from the star.
“I want a yes or no answer from you,” he said, as he spoke about the actor’s appearance at the 2024 Logie Awards. “Did you last night catch up with the actors and crew from Home and Away?”
After Ritchie confirmed that she had, Wippa teased: “I know you’re going back to the Bay. I’ve seen your emails as I sit next to you in the office.”
Ritchie jokingly replied, “No you don’t, you have bad eyes”. But Wippa wasn’t put off, as he continued to insist that the star is gearing up for “a bit of a comeback”.

The actor also spoke to TV Week about the rumours, joking that “every time I post a photo of Palm Beach or me, [people assume] I’m going back to Home and Away.”
She confirmed that a return for Sally is “not [happening] any day soon” and added that, although she isn’t opposed to going back to the soap, she can’t imagine doing so at the moment.
“They didn’t kill me off so I guess I could probably head back one day but it feels like a lifetime ago now,” she said. “And it’s very well looked after without me there so I don’t think so.”
