Levi’s playful as he flirts with Mackenzie, but she insists that he needs his rest after the stabbing. With Mali and Tane out of the house though, she worries that her housemates are avoiding the loved-up couple. She points out that her housemates are like family and she doesn’t want to push them away.
Later, Levi visits Mac at work and realises Eden must have known he was in hospital. Mac decides he needs to know – Eden works for her now, and Levi is miffed that his sister still won’t even speak to him. That afternoon, Mackenzie takes a phone call from her brother, Dean. She’s shocked to learn that he’s coming to visit.
Meanwhile, Remi and Bree plot payback for Kirby and Theo, and they toast to pranking their well-meaning friends. Kirby comes grovelling the next day with an apology, but unbeknownst to her, Bree is waiting for Remi in bed. Later, the renewed couple agree to keep their romantic reunion a secret – Bree’s not ready for a thousand questions, and Remi agrees.
Elsewhere, Tane and Harper review the participants for the youth programme, and he thanks her for taking him this far. She can’t think of anyone better to help these young offenders change their lives. They meet the boys, and Tane has his work cut out for him with one in particular, who hits on Harper and starts conflict with another one of the young men.
Tane is forced to break up the fight, and Harper accidentally cops a fist to the face. Tane starts to doubt the programme after the bad start, but Harper buoys him and reminds him that these boys need his help.
Before long, one of the participants, Perri, has returned to the club to tell Tane that his peers were out of line today. He asks whether Tane can really teach him self-defence. Tane’s face lights up as he realises he can make a difference in at least one kid’s life.
