Melissa Gorga Says She Would Be OK Leaving ‘RHONJ’ If Bravo Goes a Certain Way

The ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star, who has been on the reality series since season three, “wouldn’t find it as a loss” to exit the cast after the explosive season 14 finale if Teresa Giudice is asked to return.

Melissa Gorga isn’t sure about her future in Real Housewives of New Jersey after the explosive season 14 finale and subsequent post-finale special.

While appearing on fellow Real Housewives stars Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge’s podcast Two Ts in a Pod, Gorga was asked by Judge how she would process the hypothetical situation if she wasn’t brought back for the next season, but her sister-in-law, co-star Teresa Giudice, was.

“Are you prepared for that, are you concerned?” wondered Judge.

“I am prepared for anything at this point, obviously, because of all the rumors that are out there,” responded Gorga.

She noted that if Bravo decides to “go that route” of picking Giudice over her, which to her would be the “darker” choice, “then that is not a show that I want to be on anyway.” Gorga clarified that while she does want to continue being on RHONJ, she does not “want to be on that toxic shit.”

“As long as [Teresa] is there and that whole thing would come back, I wouldn’t find it as [enjoyable],” Gorga added. When asked by Mellencamp if she would change her mind if Giudice’s husband Luis Ruelas were gone, Gorga confirmed, “I wouldn’t find it as a loss [to leave].” She then pointed out that she has had a 14-year run on the Bravo series and “you can’t do it forever; you don’t go and be on a TV show for 50 years or 20 years.”

But Gorga reiterated that she wants to stay on the show and hopes Bravo brings in something “fresh and new” going forward. She is, however, aware there’s a chance she may not be involved. “If they choose that route [of not keeping me], then I don’t want to be on it anyway,” said the RHONJ star.

In the season 14 finale, Giudice and Gorga’s ongoing feud reached its peak, with Guidice repeatedly calling her sister-in-law a “whore,” calling back to her memorable season one confrontation with Bravo alum Danielle Staub. Instead of having a traditional reunion special, the women instead returned to the site of the finale and were divided into two groups according to their alliances to Guidice and Gorga, where they watched back the finale in a special that aired Aug. 11.

On the finale’s post Watch What Happens Live show, Cohen described the finale as feeling “pretty final,” but clarified in his most recent comments on his SiriusXM radio show that nothing had yet been decided about a cast shake-up for season 15. Assuring, however, “We are going to reimagine the show in some way.”
