“So moving”- The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans react to Bronwyn talking about her daughter
Episode 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 was released on October 16. The episode documented the show’s ladies settling back into their lives after the previous episodes saw them on their trip to Milwaukee.
Viewers also got to know more about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s newest addition, Bronwyn. She opened up to Lisa about her 18-year-old daughter Gwen and said, she was in her late teens when she had her. She added that Gwen’s father and his family weren’t happy about the pregnancy and chose not to be involved with Gwen at all.
Things got emotional as Bronwyn added that Gwen’s father was no more and that his family hadn’t ever contacted her to get in touch with Gwen. Lisa, who knew Gwen’s father’s family well said they were ready to see and meet their granddaughter. Fans of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City came to X to react to this talk between the two.

Some fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County questioned the family for not wanting to see the child of a son they lost.
“I hope she asked Bronwyn if it was ok beforehand (didn’t hear that during their discussion). It’s while to me that this woman lost her son and it has taken almost two decades to decide that she wants to meet her,” an X user wrote.
“Still thinking about Bronwyn’s story. He died and they still didn’t reach out. Smh,” another X user wrote.
Some fans of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City liked the depth Bronwyn had and wanted to know more about her.
“Bronwyn has a very interesting backstory. Every time she shares some of her personal life I want to know more,” another commentator wrote.
“Bronwyn has so many layers to her. she’s really one of the realest additions to a cast that we’ve had in a long time,” read another comment.
Bronwyn opens up to Lisa about her daughter, Gwen on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 5 episode 5
The topic of Gwen came up on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City after Bronwyn found out that Lisa knew Gwen’s father’s family well. Lisa said she couldn’t have “ever imagined” that this family she knew was related to Gwen in that way.
Bronwyn shared that she was 18 and second year of college when she got pregnant. She and her partner went to his parent’s house to give them the news and it wasn’t a pleasant conversation. She explained their reaction to the news by adding that they lived in a small town mostly full of Mormons.
She said that she took insults that day, the connotations of which, she said, could well be imagined by Lisa. They called her “damaged and disgraced and shameful”. They even asked her to put her child up for adoption but Bronwyn wanted to raise her as her own. Gwen’s dad also agreed with his parents and didn’t want anything to do with the child.
One day when Gwen was about 2 years old, Bronwyn came across Gwen’s father’s obituary post on Facebook. She said that she tried contacting the family after that but they hadn’t responded. To this, Lisa said that she knew the family now wanted to reconcile with their granddaughter.
