There’s about to be a new First Lady of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church! In case you missed it, Gizelle Bryant’s cheating ex-husband Pastor Jamal Bryant announced that he’s taking another shot at marriage. He’s engaged to his boo Karri Turner and announced the news to his congregation during a recent sermon.
“I am so grateful to God that she has consented to be my wife,” Jamal told his congregation before bringing his teary-eyed fiancé on stage.
On Instagram, he shared a clip of the sermon and wrote, “My heart is overjoyed and my destiny is in clear focus. Love always wins!!”
A match made in heaven
According to Jamal, his new boo makes him a “better man.” But, what does Gizelle think about that? After all, he cheated on her when they were married. Then, during Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5, they reconciled, only to turn around and break up again.
Despite their rough history, Gizelle is apparently on board for her ex-husband taking this big step in his relationship. On Instagram, she left some words of support congratulating him on his engagement. She’s being supportive of their daughters’ new stepmom.
“Congratulations!,” Gizelle wrote in the comments. “Very happy for you!”
Sweet, right? Interestingly, Gizelle wasn’t the only Bravolebrity in the comments. Phaedra Parks from Married to Medicine and Real Housewives of Atlanta also shared some words of support for the happy couple. Of course, she always has her finger on the pulse of Atlanta.
“Congratulations JB!!!” she wrote. “So excited for you and Karri. Love y’all.”
During Jamal’s sermon, he boasted about all of the fantastic things he loves about his wife. Apparently, she recently received a doctorate, and he loves an educated woman. Plus, Pastor Jamal also said he was drawn to the fact that Karri is “anointed.”
There’s no word on when Jamal and Karri will walk down the aisle. But, if the dramatic engagement announcement is any sign of what’s to come, then you can probably expect this wedding to be over the top.
